Skin Settings

The Skin Settings button opens the skin configuration page. Use this when the system provides additional settings for skin management, categories, or download behavior.

Category Filter

The Category dropdown allows administrators to filter skins by category. For example, skins may be grouped under categories such as iBoard, blog, board list, gallery, manual, or other module types.

Downloadable Skin List

  • Installed skins may need to be selected from another configuration page before they appear on the website.
  • Skin files may include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and template files.
  • Deleting a skin may break pages or boards that use that skin.
  • If you customized a skin manually, back it up before deleting or reinstalling it.
  • Always preview the affected board or page after applying a new skin.

Recommended Naming and Backup Practice

Before replacing or deleting a skin, keep a backup of the skin folder.

Recommended:
1. Back up the current skin folder.
2. Download or delete the skin.
3. Select the skin from the related settings page.
4. Preview the affected board or page.
5. Confirm list, detail, write, and edit screens if the skin controls a board.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Skin does not appear in settings The skin may not have been downloaded correctly or may be in the wrong folder. Download the skin again and confirm that the skin folder exists in the expected location.
Preview image is missing The skin package may not include the preview image, or the image path may be incorrect. Check the skin package and preview image path.
Board layout is broken The skin may not match the current iBoard version, or required files may be missing. Check version information and confirm that all skin files exist.
Delete Skin fails The server may not have permission to delete skin files. Check IIS and folder delete permissions.
CSS or JavaScript does not load File paths inside the skin may be incorrect. Use browser developer tools to check missing file paths.

Best Practices

  • Use skins to control display style without changing core logic.
  • Keep customized skins backed up separately.
  • Do not delete skins that are assigned to active pages or boards.
  • Test list, detail, write, edit, and mobile views after applying a board skin.
  • Use category filtering to find the correct type of skin faster.
  • Keep only actively used or necessary skins installed when possible.
Skins help separate visual presentation from system logic. Manage them carefully so that board and page layouts remain stable.
