Shipping Scan

Shipping Scan allows administrators or warehouse staff to scan an internal shipping barcode and quickly mark the related shipment as shipped or complete the shipping workflow.

This page is designed for fast warehouse operation. Keep the cursor focused in the barcode input box, scan the internal shipping label, and confirm the result message.

Overview

The Shipping Scan screen is used to process shipments by scanning internal barcode labels. It is useful when orders have already been prepared and shipment records have been created.

Area Description
Scan Mode Indicates that the page is ready for barcode scanning.
Internal Barcode The barcode value printed on the internal shipping label.
Auto Submit Allows the form to submit automatically after a barcode scanner sends Enter.
Shipping Complete Completes the shipping process for the scanned shipment.
Scan Guide Displays step-by-step guidance for barcode scanning.

Purpose

Shipping Scan helps administrators complete shipments faster by using a barcode scanner instead of manually searching orders. When the internal barcode is scanned, the system can find the shipment record and update its shipping status.

Before Using Shipping Scan

Before using this page, confirm that the order and shipment are ready.

  • The order should already exist in Order Management.
  • A shipment record should already be created for the order.
  • An internal shipping barcode should be generated or printed.
  • The barcode scanner should be connected and configured to send Enter after scanning.
  • The barcode input field should be focused before scanning.
If no shipment record exists, create a shipment record first from the Order Details page.

Internal Barcode Scan

The Internal Barcode Scan panel is the main working area. Place the cursor in the barcode input box and scan the barcode printed on the internal shipping label.

Barcode Field

The Barcode field receives the barcode value from the scanner. Barcode scanners usually behave like a keyboard and type the scanned code into the focused input field.

Ready to Scan

When the page shows Ready to Scan, the operator can place the cursor in the barcode field and scan the label.

Auto Submit

Most barcode scanners can send the Enter key automatically after scanning. When Auto Submit is enabled, the form can submit immediately after the barcode is scanned.

Mode Description
Auto Submit On The system submits the barcode automatically after the scanner sends Enter.
Auto Submit Off The operator scans the barcode and manually clicks Complete Shipping.
Auto Submit is useful for repeated scanning because it reduces manual clicks.

Complete Shipping

Click Complete Shipping to process the scanned barcode. When the barcode is valid, the related shipment can be marked as shipped or completed according to the system workflow.

  1. Focus the barcode input field.
  2. Scan the internal shipping barcode.
  3. Confirm that the barcode value appears in the input box.
  4. Click Complete Shipping, or allow Auto Submit to submit automatically.
  5. Review the success or error message.

Order List Button

The Order List button returns to the Order Management list screen. Use this when you need to search orders manually or review order details.

  • Do not scan a shipment unless the package is actually ready to ship.

Best Practices

  • Print clear internal barcode labels.
  • Test the barcode scanner before live operation.
